A few years ago I created the first ‘Scripture’ piece out of an old 1930 Art Deco historical New York gambling cabinet, that at one time had been outlawed due to its ability to easily manipulate and separate people from their money. There were a little over 640 cherries in the glass and wood enclosure, which represented half the pages of the Bible since scriptural cherry pickers never read it all anyway.
That piece had such an impact I fielded numerous requests to create another one. (Seriously, at this point I may need to do a series.) This time I used an old 1920-30 Cincinnati Time Clock since ‘Cherry Picking Scripture’ has now become a full time job for so many nickel snatching political theologians. It’s all just a big grift and game to them, because a cruel and fearful Jesus not only gives them permission to act ugly, but allows them to line their gluttonous pockets with a twisted, lucrative, version of hateful salvation.
Wood, glass, paint, plastic, led lighting, steel.
