This Ballot Box is an authentic mule mounted ballot box from Shady Grove, Arkansas from the 1860's. It has a special curved base fabricated on the bottom so it could be strapped on the back of a mule and walked through rural communities so people that lived too far out from teh polls could vote.

Those days are long gone.

The heavy wooden crows mounted on the top of the antiquated empty ballot box, guarding the slit where the ballot is cast, represents the highly organized and intentional amount of voter suppression bills that are now being passed. If you get too close as you walk past it, an infrared motion detector mounted inside ‘caw’ the words “FRAUD!” ”FRAUD!”
