CIVIL WAR

We need to cool the heated rhetoric from the small population of people echoing the cry for a new ‘Civil War.’ The whitewashing of generational education and the aging, failing memories of historical data of what the last one was like is becoming shockingly apparent.
A historical reminder:
An estimated 1.5 million casualties were reported during the last Civil War. And that’s without the considerable amount of missing data on the Confederate side that was not recorded.
One in four soldiers that went to war against their neighbors and relatives, never returned home.
One in thirteen surviving soldiers returned home missing limbs, which made work to support themselves and their families afterwards impossible.
Post-traumatic stress disorder was also uncatalogued and uncared for.
Tens of thousands of families slipped into destitution, with the lingering effects from a war over 162 years ago still being seen and felt today. Especially in the South.
Because of White Supremacy, the Civil War was one of the largest human catastrophes in American history.* Artist Note: And that’s not even scratching the surface of the 10.7 million slaves that were cruelly transported to America like livestock beforehand.
It’s nothing to be proud of.
War is viciously indiscriminate. Once it’s started, civilians have no control over it. None. No matter how many weapons or ammunition they may have stockpiled in a personal bedroom or basement gun safe.
Don’t fall for it.
Wood and steel.
